The forgotten context

Photos remember what happened. EverWhy remembers why.

Say the reasoning behind a life decision out loud. EverWhy turns it into a decision card you can replay, search and question years later, when the details have faded.

The problem

You rarely lack information. You lose the context.

The reasoning behind a big decision lives in phone calls, WhatsApp threads and memory, and memory fades first. A few years on, you know what you did but not why.

  • “Why did I stop that monthly investment?”
  • “Why did the doctor change the medicine?”
  • “Why did we reject that house?”
  • “What did my accountant actually advise?”

How it works

Thirty seconds of talking, kept for good.

You don’t record everything. Only the moments you’d want to explain to yourself later.

01

Say it out loud

Tap the mic and talk it through, the way you would to a friend. Speech is transcribed on your phone, and you can fix the text. Add how you felt, who was involved, and a photo or document if it helps.

“We moved her to the school near home because…”

02

It becomes a decision card

AI pulls out what you chose, what you turned down, your reasons, the constraints, who was part of it and how sure you were. No forms to fill in.

  • Decision Changed school
  • Reason Commute and stress
  • Trade-off Higher fees
  • Advisor Uncle, a teacher
03

Replay it when it matters

Scroll your life as a timeline of decisions, or search by reason, person or topic. Tap a card to hear the original voice note again.

  2. Sep 2025 · Finance Chose the fixed-rate loan

    Home

Start a capture, see what’s worth a look today, and your decisions at a glance.

  • Capture screen: a question to answer, a pink microphone button, the transcript box and emotion choices.

    Capture

Talk it through, or type. Speech is turned into text on your phone.

  • Timeline: a search box, topic filters and decision cards with their reasons and what was said.

    Timeline

Every decision you’ve recorded, searchable and filterable by topic.

  • A decision page: “Move Mom and Papa in with us”, a confidence meter, the alternatives weighed, reasons and constraints.

    A decision

What you chose, how sure you were, what you weighed it against and why.

  • An answer to “What patterns do I repeat under stress?”, citing numbered decisions inline.

    Ask

Answers built from your own decisions, with the ones they came from cited.

  • Family Circle: people cards with how many decisions they share, and a chart of decisions with family each month.

    Family Circle

The people in your decisions, and how often each one comes up.

Ask

Ask your past self whenever life tests you.

Facing a job switch, an investment or a family move? Ask a plain question and get an answer built from your own decisions, with the cards it came from.

Patterns across years

See what you tend to do under pressure, with money, or when family disagrees.

Search by meaning

“The trip we put off” finds the card titled “Postponed Japan”. No exact words needed.

“What patterns do I repeat under stress?”

From your decisions

In four of the five decisions you recorded while feeling anxious, you picked the option that ended the uncertainty fastest: the first job offer, the fixed-rate mortgage, the school nearest home.

  • Fixed-rate mortgage · Sep 2025

People

Decisions are never made alone. Keep the voices that guided you.

Big choices in a family involve parents, a spouse, relatives, advisors. EverWhy remembers who said what, so their reasoning stays with the decision.

  • Tag who was part of a decision as you capture it: a parent, your partner, a doctor, your accountant.
  • Open a person to see every decision they shaped and what they advised each time.
  • Your circle is a private list on your phone. Nobody you add is invited, notified or shown anything.
Where it matters

The questions that come back years later.

  • The symptoms before
  • What changed
  • The alternatives you discussed

  • What the family said
  • The risk you took knowingly

Private by design

Your reasons are personal. They stay on your device.

No account of ours holds your decisions. Here is exactly where each piece of your data goes, including the parts that do leave your phone.

  1. On your phone

    Everything you capture

Decisions, voice notes, documents and your timeline are saved on the device. Speech is transcribed there too, so the audio never leaves it. If you turn on SMS or Gmail signals, those messages are read on the phone as well, and never leave it.

  2. Sent, not stored

The text of what you said

To build a card or answer a question, the text goes to a cloud AI model and comes straight back. Nothing is kept after the reply. Photos and documents are never sent.

  3. Your own Google Drive

    An optional backup

Encrypted on your phone with a PIN before it’s uploaded, to a folder only EverWhy can open. We can’t read it. Forget the PIN and lose the phone, and it can’t be recovered.

  4. Our servers

    Your sign-in, and little else

Your login, an address for sending your phone notifications, and anonymous usage statistics you can switch off. None of your decisions.

What it will never be

Built for clarity, not attention.

  • No ads. Ever.

Your decisions aren’t a profile to sell against.

  • No social feed

No followers, no likes, nothing built to keep you scrolling.

  • No public sharing

There is no profile page and no way to post a decision.

  • No “record everything”

It listens only when you tap the mic.

Pricing

One plan. Everything in it.

Every card and every answer uses AI that costs money to run. The subscription pays for that, so ads never have to.
